The North Judson San Pierre School Board met earlier this month on March 18th, with several items on the agenda, including discussion on the approval of Early Literacy Achievement grant distribution. Superintendent Dr. Kelly Shepherd shares more on that:
“So for us this year, that grant totaled approximately $34,000, so teachers who basically have contact with students helping them prepare for IREAD testing, get a portion of that total grant.”
The Board also approved a 4-year lease agreement for the purchase of updated iPads; a continuation of transferring funds from Education to Operations; and accepted two donations to help fund the North Judson San Pierre High School Band’s trip to Nashville, Tennessee.
“We are doing very well with our high school band — our teachers are growing that group and we’re excited to see those numbers coming back, more students involved with it, so they have a really good trip planned, and it’s nice, we are very appreciative that the Community Foundation, always very willing to help us out with good endeavors for our students.”
