North Judson Mint Festival Opens Nominations for Father/Grandfather of the Year

The North Judson Mint Festival has announced that nominations for Father of the Year and Grandfather of the Year are now open.

The Mint Festival asks those who wish to nominate someone to write an essay explaining why their father or grandfather should be declared the 2025 North Judson Mint Festival’s Father of the Year or Grandfather of the Year.

The winning essay writer will receive a $50 prize, and the winning father and grandfather will each receive $25, a commemorative plaque, and a gift basket from Ace Hardware. This contest is open to any students who live in Starke County or within one of the 3 school corporations in Starke County. The nominated father or grandfather must also meet that residency requirement. Each essay should be hand written, and winners will be contacted via phone by a member of the Mint Festival Committee.

Additionally, winning essay writers, father and grandfather will be recognized during the Mint Festival’s opening ceremony, taking place at 5pm on Friday June 13th at the band stage in Norwayne Field. Winners will be invited to participate in the Mint Festival Parade on Sunday, June 15th.
