Pulaski County Historical Society Celebrates $5,000 Grant

It was announced recently that Pulaski County Historical Society was one of two organizations in Pulaski County to receive grant money from the Community Grants Fund through the Community Foundation of Pulaski County.

The Historical Society has provided a press release celebrating the receipt of the funds; stating that the $5,000 will go to support furniture and equipment for the new museum they are currently in the process of moving into.

Leaders at the Historical Society announced the winning grant from the Community Foundation just in time for artifacts to be moved from the old museum to the new. The Historical Society praised the new project as a great step forward for the organization and stated that they are grateful for the Community Foundation’s annual grant program.

“We’ve been working on this new museum for quite some time,” Ryan Harrison said in reaction to the news. “Because we are moving into a space much larger than we’ve ever had before, we were in desperate need of furniture, equipment, and museum staging items. This grant allows us to fully outfit the museum to show the Story of Us, the history of Pulaski County.”

Harrison, the organization’s President, continued to say, “This is truly an exciting time for us. We’re anxious to share our new home with the community. We’re looking forward to the grand opening on July 10.”
