Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals to Meet April 9th

There will be a regular meeting of the Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals taking place on Wednesday, April 9th at 6:30pm Central Time.

The meeting will take place in the county government building located at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.

Included on this meeting’s agenda is a reorganization of the board, followed by two public hearings.

In the first public hearing, Mariusz Prus will ask the Zoning Board to consider allowing the construction of an accessory structure out of 2 shipping containers, on a property owned by Prus in Monterey.


The second public hearing involves a use variance request by Carl and Tiffany Balaszek to continue using their property in Knox as a commercial business under new ownership, even though it is not located in a business-zoned district. Additionally they are requesting to keep a storage container on the property.


Items under old and new business include a two instances of people seeking extensions for variances and resignation letters from Denise Cultice and Jason Downs.

The next regular meeting of the Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals will take place on May 14th.
