Starke County Sheriff’s Office to Offer Women’s Basic Handgun Safety Course

The Starke County Sheriff’s Office has announced that they will be holding a Women’s Basic Handgun Safety Course.

This course will take place on Saturday, May 17th from 9am to 4pm central time at the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, which is located at 5435 East Indiana Highway 8 in Knox.

There is a fee associated with the course, $50 which can be paid in cash or check the day of the event.

The first 24 applicants for the handgun safety course will be reserved, and any remaining applicants will be placed on a waiting list.

The course will include 2 hours of instruction covering the safe storage and handling of firearms, as well as carrying considerations. Following will be approximately 4 hours at a shooting range, learning the fundamentals of shooting.

All applicants must be at least 21 years old, must complete a registration form, and must bring an unloaded handgun, at least 50 rounds of ammo, and ear and eye protection.
