Knox Man Fatally Struck by Train Friday

 

KNOX – According to information from the Knox City Police Department, a Knox man was fatally injured after being struck by a train Friday.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. on May 9, 2025, Knox Police Officers responded to a report of a male subject who had been struck by a train in the area of 401 S. Prettyman Street in Knox.

Upon arrival, first responders from the Knox City Police Department, Starke County EMS, the Knox Center Township Fire Department, and the Starke County Sheriff’s Office immediately began life-saving efforts.

The victim, later identified as 39-year-old Raymond Campbell of Knox, was transported by ambulance to a designated landing zone for airlift. Despite all efforts by emergency personnel, Mr. Campbell succumbed to his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
