According to information shared by the City of La Porte Police Department, some of their employees recently graduated from a leadership class offered by Leadership La Porte County.
Leadership La Porte County is a nonprofit organization in La Porte that offers courses for both adults and youth.
The Adult Community Leadership Program, which meets once a month from September through May, covers topics such as community engagement, team building, leadership skill development, and networking. Applicants must be nominated.
According to the City of La Porte Police Department, graduates of the class include Sergeant Justin Dyer, Sergeant Adam Jaskowiak, and Chief’s Administrative Assistant Tricia Metts.
Metts was one of only five class members honored for outstanding excellence in completing extracurricular activities centered on civic engagement and leadership development.
The City of La Porte Police Department stated that they are proud to have such passionate and committed leaders on their team. They continued, stating that the recent graduates’ growth strengthens not just the department, but the entire community.
