The Starke County Parks Department will be holding their annual Memorial Day event this upcoming Monday, Memorial Day, May 26th.
The parade will take place at 9am Central Time; with the day’s events beginning at the Starke County Courthouse in Knox and ending with a procession to Crown Hill Cemetery.
The event includes the presentation of wreaths, the raising of the American flag, a 21-gun salute, the playing of Taps, a performance by a local high school band, and speakers at both the courthouse and cemetery.
The procession will be led from the courthouse down John Street to Crown Hill by the riderless horse.
WKVI has been informed that the speakers for the event will be Sergeant First Class Retired Spencer England and Master Sergeant Retired Shirlene Olson.
The public is invited to join our local veterans in attending this annual Memorial Day event.
