Eastern Pulaski School Corporation had a regular School Board meeting this Monday, June 9th. The meeting took place at 5:30pm.
After the call to order and approval of the meeting’s agenda, the meeting was opened up for public comment, of which none was added to the meeting minutes. Under consent Agenda Items, the School Board approved the meeting minutes from the previous Board meeting.
The board was presented with various financial items, including claims, a fund report, and EPCSC Summary. Fund transfers were discussed, such as Medicaid to Education Fund as well as a Cafeteria Transfer from April 2025.
Grand Cleanup and Liability Cleanup were also presented, as well as information on a 3-year backup subscription on People Driven Technology. There was a summary of education expenditures, and a year-end balance report for elementary, middle, and high schools were presented and approved.
Under personnel items, several recommendations to approve were made, as well as 2 transfers and 3 resignations.
Following, the Board discussed contracts and raises. It is noted that the proposed raises for classified staff are effective beginning July 1st of this year, and are consistent with the previous year. Classified staff evaluated as effective will receive $0.40/hour increase. Classified staff evaluated as highly effective will receive a $0.50/hour increase. Additionally, administrative contracts were rolled over. These contracts and raises were approved by the board.
The board then conducted a 2nd reading of the Classified Handbook, Athletic Handbook, and Acceptable Use Policy, all of which can be found at the Central Office upon request. All 3 of these readings were approved.
Eastern Pulaski School Board then conducted a first reading of Neola Policy Updates, which can also be requested from the Central Office. The board has not yet voted to approve the policy updates; and this item will be brought to the July 14th board meeting for a formal vote. Also being held until July 14th are the handbooks, which the Board conducted the first reading of. A copy can be requested from Central Office.
The school board then voted to approve a donation of a grand piano from the Winamac Nazarene Church, and it was approved.
The next item discussed were meal prices for the 2025-2026 school year:
Eastern Pulaski Elementary School will cost $2.30 for adults, $0.30 as a reduced price, and full pay students $1.45. Lunch at Eastern Pulaski Elementary School will be $4.40 for adults, $0.40 as a reduced price, and $2.45 for full pay. For Winamac Middle and High School, breakfast full pay will be $1.70 and lunch will be full pay $2.70. Milk will be $0.65 across the board. These prices were approved.
A request was made to scrap Bus #12, a spare bus that was stated to be sitting at Eastern Pulaski’s bus barn and that would cost too much money to repair to be running again. The request was approved.
Food service bids were voted on and awarded, including bids from HPS Gordon Food Service, Prairie Farms, Piazza Produce, and Commercial Food Systems.
A memorandum of Understanding to renew the agreement with 4c Health was voted on and approved. Additionally, the board discussed graduation numbers. After a report from the Superintendent and a section for board comments, the meeting was adjourned. The next regular meeting of the Eastern Pulaski School Board will take place July 14th.
