North Judson Mint Festival to Kick off this Friday

The North Judson Mint Festival will take place this weekend with events on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday June 13th, 14th, and 15th.

This is the 48th annual Mint Festival and there is no shortage of activities. The fun kicks off Friday June 13th at 11:45am with the flag raising by North Judson Wayne Township Fire Department.

Following the flag raising there will be several activities happening, including the North Judson Wayne Township Fire Department Touch a Fire Truck event, a Family Friday, bounce houses, kid’s craft corner, a sidewalk chalk decorating contest, and pony rides. Live music begins at 1pm with Garage High School Band.

Beginning at 4pm there will be a video game truck and the South County Cruisers Cruise In. The football team player walk thru will take place at Norwayne Field at 4:45, and the official Opening Ceremonies for the Festival will begin at 5pm at Norwayne Field Pavaillion. The Mint Queen and King and Mint Darlings Introduction and Father and Grandfather of the Year will be introduced at the opening ceremonies.

The festival will feature a beer garden and live music Friday evening, including a performance by Liver Damage from 5:30 – 7:30 and a performance by Henry Lee Summer from 8:30 – 10:30pm.

Book Bingo will begin at 6pm at North Judson Methodist Church, and Twist & Smile Balloons will be at Keller and Main Street all evening.
