Starke County Park Board Held June Regular Meeting

The Starke County Park Board held their June meeting recently, and according to Parks Superintendent Amie Flora, during the meeting the board discussed renovation progress.

She notes that all seasonal RV camping is filled at Bass Lake Campground, and at the time of the meeting, there were 10 available pier slips for the 2025 season.

The Park Board also discussed the success of the Art in the Forest event that was held on June 5th at the Starke County Forest.

Also on the topic of the forest, the Park Board considered whether or not to allow bicycles on the trails at the Forest. Ultimately it was decided not to allow them, due to the erosion it can cause to the trails and for the safety of hikers.

The Starke County Park Board meetings are open to the public, and they typically meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
