Starke County Sheriff’s Office Seizes Methamphetamine at Traffic Stop

According to a press release from the Starke County Sheriff’s Office, on June 14th at approximately 5:50pm, Deputies observed an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) alert through FLOCK, reference an expired registration.

Deputies confirmed the registration was expired. Deputies observed the vehicle a short time later turning eastbound on 100 North from US 35. A traffic stop was initiated.

K9 Reaper was deployed for a free air sniff. K9 Reaper positively alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. Deputies reported the male occupant exited the vehicle holding an open pocket knife.

A vehicle search was conducted. A clear plastic bag with a clear/white crystal/rock-like substance was located. This substance, later field tested positive for methamphetamine. The subject was taken into custody. An additional bag of suspected methamphetamine was located on his person. The total approximate weight was 6.12 grams.

Joshua Glade (49), of Michigan City, is currently incarcerated at the Starke County Justice Center with a preliminary charge of:

Possession of Methamphetamine a Level 5 Felony

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
