
The Urban League of Northwest Indiana has announced a free energy and construction industry training class that will take place in Merrilville beginning July 28th.
The class is part of the Engage Community Partnership Initiative and prepares trainees for careers and placement in energy and construction. Successful graduates will gain OSHA-30 certifications, NCCER national credentials, electrical and gas operations fundamentals, financial literacy, and more. All books, equipment, and fees will be covered for accepted trainees.
Those interested should sign up fast, as there are only 30 seats available.
Those wishing to apply must be at least 18 years old, have a math and reading comprehension up to 9th grade level, have either a High School Diploma or GED, is able to lift up to 50 pounds, agrees to random drug screening throughout the training program, has a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and is a resident of their service territory.
