The Knox City Council will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 12, at Knox City Hall, located at 101 West Washington Street. The meeting will begin at 5:00 PM Central Time and is open to the public.
After the meeting is called to order and any amendments are made to the agenda, Council will vote on the approval of minutes of their previous regular meeting, as well as hear any citizen’s comments. The Council will hear a request for a golf cart license exemption, and then the public hearing will begin.
The hearing is on an amendment to Ordinance 958 regarding building area requirements for two-story residential buildings.
The proposed amendment would require that single-story residential buildings have a minimum area of 1,000 square feet, excluding attached garages, while two-story buildings must have a ground level of at least 700 square feet. Each unit must also be at least 26 feet in width.
Following the hearing will be a mayor’s report, additional council items, and the signing of vouchers, before the meeting is adjourned.
