The minutes from the July 28, 2025 Knox Parks and Recreation Board Meeting were recently shared with WKVI as follows:
Attendance:
Board Members Present: Gary Dulin, Lora Estok, Lucy Rizzo, Ruth Bailey, Glenn Barnes.
Board Members Not Present: Nathan Bradley
Others Present: Bobby Trusty, Carl Swihart
Approval of Minutes from July.
• Motion to approve: Ruth Bailey Second: Lora Estok. All in favor.
Public Comment
Carl Swihart stated he had one more baseball tournament this year for Oct. 10-12 and if more trash removal can be done. Every two hours was agreed upon. He also had the following dates for tournaments in 2026: May 8-10, June 26-28, and Oct 9-11. Motion to authorize these dates was made by Glenn Barnes, Second: Laura Estok. All in favor.
Financial Reports None
New Business:
• Lora Estok brought the diagrams for donated playground equipment. Decision was made that when the weather gets cooler we could get a few people together and find all the parts to the zip-line and decide where to put it.
• Slats for pickle ball court would be too expensive. We will go with the netting but not until Spring, budget permitting.
• Wooden structures were removed from skate park and we need to see what we can replace those with.
• Quote was approved for the removal of the trees. Motion to approve: Glenn Barnes, Second: Gary Dulin

Board Member Comments
Lucy Rizzo would like all baseball/softball schedules made available before the season starts in 2026 so the workers know which fields to prepare during work hours instead of being called back to do it.
Carl Swihart also mentioned that there are pitching mats available on Amazon for $75. Each. This may help with not having to do more maintenance on the mounds before the games.
