MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU) – A LaPorte man is in the hospital after he was shot outside of a bar in Michigan City early Sunday morning.
Police say they were called just after 2:30 a.m. to Matey’s Bar on reports of gunshots being fired outside the bar and fights taking place inside and outside the bar.
When they arrived, they reportedly found a 25-year-old man who had been shot near a parking lot entrance across the street from the bar.
Police say he was taken to Franciscan Hospital, but then he was transferred to a hospital in Chicago for advanced care. There is no word on his current condition.
Investigators say the man had gotten into an argument at the bar and was shot while he was walking to his vehicle that was parked across the street.
No arrests have been made yet.
