Winamac, IN — The Pulaski Health Foundation has been hard at work this year, focusing on strategic planning, welcoming new board members, and adopting an updated mission and vision to guide the organization into the future.

Originally established in 1959 as the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Foundation, the non-profit agency played a vital role in the development of Pulaski County’s first hospital, which opened in 1963. Once the hospital was transferred to the Pulaski County Commissioners as required by law, the Foundation continued its mission under its current name. Today, the Foundation operates Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac, Parkview Haven Life Care Community in Francesville, and Riverwood Commons in Winamac.

At recent meetings, the Board of Directors engaged in forward-looking discussions about the Foundation’s future and officially welcomed several new members. Dr. Michael Keller, Wendy Schwab, Rick Wuethrich, and Loree Fisher joined the existing board members: President Scott Fritz, Dr. Robert Klitzman, Jim Pierrou, Lacy McCarty, Lyn Morrison, and Pat Bawcum.

As part of its strategic planning, the Board also adopted a revised mission and vision statement to better reflect the evolving needs of the community:

Mission Statement

“Our mission is to enrich lives across generations by fostering a community of care where wellness, joy, and dignity are at the heart of every experience.”

Vision Statement

“To be a trusted and vibrant community where people of all ages thrive, feel valued, and experience life with meaning, connection, and joy.”

“These statements reaffirm our commitment to serving the community with compassion, integrity, and excellence,” said Sharon McKinley, Executive Director of the Foundation, “They guide our efforts to continue improving the lives of those we serve today and for generations to come.”
