The Chairperson of the Starke County Arbor Day Committee has recently announced that they are planning the 2026 Arbor Day celebration at the Starke County Forest, and they are looking to explore opportunities for local participation and showcase the talent and resources in our community.
The announcement goes on to state that they are inviting community members to set up booths or tables to share information, resources, and activities with attendees to the 2026 Arbor Day celebration. Examples include Master Gardeners, beekeepers or pollinator educators, composting demonstrators, wildlife and birding organizations, and more.
The Arbor Day Committee is also looking to highlight local artists and vendors who create nature-inspired items, such as locally made honey, jams, syrups, or baked goods; handmade wooden crafts and eco-conscious products such as beeswax, natural soaps, reusable bags; and nature photographers, to name a few.
They are also looking to feature a wood carver or chainsaw artist who can give a live demonstration while showcasing and selling their creations.
If anyone would like to participate, share skills, or showcase creations, please reach out to the Starke County Arbor Day Committee through the Starke County Surveyor’s Office, at 574-772-9135.
