According to an announcement from Starke County Community Services, the food pantry could very much use donations! They serve so many local families and are currently very low on stock.
If you would like to donate to the food pantry, they are in need of things that go well with canned vegetables and meat. The Food Bank supplies those items and they are still stocked okay on frozen meat, but stated that they could use sides such as mashed potatoes or whatever you might add to the meal.
The pantry has a “random” wall, where they keep items such as salt and pepper, mayonnaise, or anything that doesn’t fall into another category. Those shelves are down to a bare minimum, according to the post.
The pantry also has an area for pastas and items that go with pastas, which is another section that could use restocking.
Additionally, the pantry keeps a space designated specifically for kids, stocked with jelly and snacks for them, and anything to add to that shelf would be greatly appreciated.
Finally, the food pantry also tries to keep personal hygiene items in stock for families and while their first priority is food, any items such as laundry detergent, toilet paper, etc. are also very much appreciated.
Starke County Community Services wishes to thank everyone who donates to the food pantry; and stated that without donations the food pantry could not help the people that it does.
