Starke County Soil & Water Conservation District will be hosting a Kankakee River Community day this Saturday, September 13th.
They are inviting the public to bring the family for a day of outdoor fun and river exploration, at Kankakee’s Fish and Wildlife Area at Highway 8 and 39.
Enjoy canoeing on Kankakee River, either with a guided tour on on your own.
The event will also have local food truck and bakery stand, crafts and games for children, free T-shirts available, conservation partner booths, and stories and exhibits from local historians.
The Starke County Soil & Water Conservation District says it will be a celebration of nature, communities, and the wonders of the Grand Kankakee Marsh.
This event is free to attend.
