Knox City Council prepares for September 9 Meeting

Knox, IN – The Knox City Council will hold its regular session tomorrow, Tuesday, September 9, at Knox City Hall. Knox City Hall is located at 101 West Washington Street.

The meeting will begin at 5pm Central Time, with claims available for council review at 4:45.

A public hearing will be held during the council meeting, to discuss the proposed 2026 budget. Taxpayers are encouraged to attend and provide input. The adoption meeting for the budget is scheduled for September 23 at 5pm Central Time.

Also during the meeting, the council will review two recommendations from the Plan Commission: a favorable recommendation for a 700-square-foot two-story residential building within the city’s 2-mile jurisdiction, and an unfavorable recommendation regarding the allowance of chickens and rabbits within city limits and the 2-mile jurisdiction.

Council will discuss a request for a stop sign at Washington and McGill Streets, on the McGill side. ​

Councilors will receive updates from the SCEDF President and Vice-President, the Clerk-Treasurer, and the Mayor.

After the signing of any vouchers, the meeting will be adjourned. The public is invited to attend this meeting.
