The Knox City Council will meet for a regular session on Tuesday, September 23, at Knox City Hall. Knox City Hall is located at 101 West Washington Street in Knox, and the public is invited to attend this meeting.
Claims will be made available to council members at 4:45pm Central Time, with the meeting to begin at 5pm. The meeting will open with a call to order and any amendments to the agenda, followed by approval of the September 9 meeting minutes.
Citizen comments will then be heard, before the council moves to adopt the city’s 2026 budget. The proposed budget, which received a public hearing earlier this month, outlines an estimated civil maximum levy of $2.15 million and includes funding for general operations, public safety, parks, and infrastructure.
Next, the council will take up the first reading of Ordinance 2025-OR6, which sets salaries and pay rates for all city departments for the coming year. The salary ordinance covers pay scales for elected officials, police, fire, and other municipal employees, along with vacation, sick leave, insurance contributions, and equipment allowances.
After reports from the clerk-treasurer and Mayor Dennis Estok, the council will address any additional council items, and sign vouchers before adjourning the meeting.
