Starke County Prosecutor Leslie A. Baker announced that a jury found Chad Noah guilty of Dealing in Methamphetamine, a Level 2 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 3 Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 4 Felony, Possession of Cocaine, a Level 6 Felony, and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe, a Level 6 Felony following the filing of a
criminal case on July 8, 2025.
The allegations of the criminal information relate back to events of Dealing in Methamphetamine beginning in March of 2024 through July of 2025.
On or about July 6, 2025, Officers with the Knox Police Department served a search warrant at
Melissa Gaskill’s residence located in Knox, Starke County, Indiana.
Melissa Gaskill and Chad Noah were located together in one of the bedrooms. Officer Nathan
Chambers found Gaskill sitting on her bed with a tourniquet around her right arm. Gaskill and
Noah were placed in handcuffs and taken outside, and two other individuals were also located
inside the house and secured. After all occupants were removed from the residence, Knox Police
Department Officers search the home pursuant to a search warrant. During the search, a large
amount of methamphetamine was located along with a glass jar containing empty, clear
sandwich bags, syringes, and large amount of US currency were located in Melissa and Chad’s
bedroom.
A jury trial was held on September 10-11, 2025, and Chad Noah was found guilty on all Counts.
The State of Indiana was represented by Prosecuting Attorney, Leslie A. Baker and the
Defendant was represented by Richard Ballard. At trial, the Defendant chose not to testify.
During the trial, testimony was given by officers from the Knox Police Department and the
Indiana State Police Laboratory.
A sentencing hearing is set for October 3, 2025.
