The Knox Park Board recently approved the minutes from their August meeting, and those minutes have been shared as follows:
Attendance:
Board Members Present: Gary Dulin, Nathan Bradlay, Lucy Rizzo, Ruth Bailey, Glenn Barnes.
Board Members Not Present: Lora Estok
Others Present: Bobby Trusty, Mike
Approval of Minutes from July.
• Motion to approve: Nathan Bradley Second: Ruth Bailey. All in favor.
Public Comment
During the winter can we still have garbage cans along trail or parking lot by shelter one. Gary will inquire with the Mayor.
Financial Reports Reviewed, no questions.
New Business:
• We have all the parts to the two zip-lines and the small one will go to Sandy Acres on the North side of the park. The larger one can go by shelter one area or shelter three area.
• Employees have set hours. Mike is 7:00-2:00, Bobby is 8:00-2:00 during the school season. On Friday Bobby leaves at 1:30.
• Splash pad gets cleaned every Monday during the summer.
• Serving tables in the shelters can be painted in the spring.
• Gator quote was $500. For parts and $1000. For labor from John Deere. Sean, mechanic for Knox School buses will do all for $750. Motion to approve Ruth Bailey, Second, Lucy Rizzo, all approved.
Activity Director’s Report
Superintendent’s Report:
• Bobby asked that Mike be considered for a raise.
• Also brought up the homeless people situation in the park. They hide in the woods and sometimes frighten people when they are coming out of there.
Board Member Comments
Do we need another employee at the park for the amount of work that needs to be done?
Is the caboose and the building park of the park’s property?
Shelter 2 has a broken serving table that needs to be replace. Maybe check budget for getting new serving tables instead of painting in spring.
When food trucks at the park do they pay a fee? If not if it is not a non-profit perhaps they should.
