The Michigan City Fire Department has announced that they will be holding an open house on Saturday, October 11th. The Open House will take place from 10am – 1pm Central Time at Fire Station 1, which is located at 1012 Ohio Street in Michigan City.
The Open House will feature fire truck tours as well as tours of the station itself. There will be a live burn demonstration, an extrication demonstration, and fire safety information. Free food will be offered, there will be giveaways, community vendors, and a build your own mini-first aid kit station.
The community is invited to this family event to meet local firefighters, see the gear up close, and learn about fire safety in a hands-on environment. Fire Prevention Week is October 5 – 11th of this year and the Michigan City Fire Department looks forward to seeing their community on the 11th.
