Indiana’s second round of 2025 Community Development Block Grant funding is now open for applications, according to an announcement from Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
The program, provided by the state, helps rural communities improve infrastructure, revitalize downtown areas, upgrade public facilities and support economic development.
This round includes several updates. Wastewater and drinking water grants now reflect new user-rate benchmarks set by a legislative task force. The Public Facilities program has expanded to cover historic preservation, and both the Main Street Revitalization and Public Facilities programs now encourage more efficient construction and renovation practices. The Blight Clearance initiative has been broadened to include residential properties, and extra points will be awarded to communities recovering from natural disasters.
Applications must be submitted through the state’s electronic Grants Management System. Proposals for construction-related projects are due by Friday, October 24, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern, and all other applications are due Friday, December 19, at the same time. State officials urge applicants to file by 4 p.m. on each deadline day to ensure they can receive technical assistance. More information and application resources are available at in.gov/ocra/cdbg.
