The West Central School Corporation sent a reminder today to parents in regards to student drop-off in the morning and pick-up in the afternoon.
Parents are reminded to please follow posted signs, for the safety of students.
Cars, trucks and other vehicles are NOT to be entering where buses are picking up or dropping off students at any time.
West Central states that they have had numerous instances this school year of drivers going around buses as they sit to pick up students, mingling with buses that are loading/unloading, and merging in with bus traffic.
The announcement goes on to say that student safety is of paramount importance and they need parents’ help.
The announcement included a student-created graphic that shows the correct traffic pattern for drivers picking up or dropping off students. The graphic was created by a previous Digital Design class.
Parents are instructed to avoid the front of the high school and the back of the elementary from 7:35am-8:10am and again from 2:50pm-3:15pm, and not to drive where buses are picking up or dropping off. When in doubt, go another way.
The school appreciates parents’ help.
