Health Foundation of La Porte launches website to help reduce SIDS

The Health Foundation of La Porte announced the launch of a new website as a resource for parents with questions about sleeping conditions for babies, noting that October is Infant Safe Sleep Month.

The website can be found at safesleeplpc.org, and on the front page, the basics are listed, as the ABCD’s of Safe Sleep:

A for Alone, but in the same room.
B for on their Back to sleep, every time
C in a safe Crib, bassinet or play yard
D for remaining drug and alcohol free while caring for baby, including not smoking near the baby.

Following these steps from the American Academy of Pediatrics will help lower the risk of infant suffocation and SIDS.

The Health Foundation of La Porte states that as the month continues, they will share reminders on how parents can create a safe sleep space for infants, along with resources and videos from trusted local pediatricians.
