The Knox Board of Works will hold an executive session followed by a regular meeting tomorrow morning, Wednesday, October 22.
Both meetings will take place at Knox City Hall, located at 101 W. Washington Street.
The executive session will begin at 9am Central time and will be in regards to receiving information about and interviewing prospective employees. The City Attorney will attend the meeting, along with authorized officers, as part of carrying out the session’s stated purpose. Executive sessions are not open to the public.
Directly following the executive session, or at 9:30, will be a regular meeting of the Board of Works.
The meeting’s agenda includes the approval and swearing-in of a new hire for the Knox Police Department, along with consideration of the department’s new Standard Operating Procedure #28 regarding the use of Flock license plate readers. The policy outlines how officers may use the technology for law enforcement purposes while maintaining data security and protecting individual privacy rights.
The Board will also hear the latest superintendent reports and review several ongoing property cases, including on Pearl street, John Street, Fear Court, Lake Street, and Elm Street. The board will also continue with their review of fines for Golden Acres and Hickory Recovery.
The October 22 meeting will conclude with regular business before being adjourned.
