The Knox Community School Board has announced that they will hold a regular meeting this upcoming Monday evening, November 3rd, at 6pm Central Time at the Administrative Office.
The meeting will open with the Pledge of Allegiance and the board’s mission statement.
The school’s Maintenance Director will start the meeting with an update on his department. Superintendent Dr. William Ells will then share the district’s “Champion Moment,” recognizing several standout students and groups, including the Kankakee Valley REMC Junior Board of Directors, a Lilly Endowment Scholarship finalist, a Coca-Cola Scholar semifinalist, and the Redskin Brigade.
The board will review minutes from their October 20th regular meeting and their October 28th executive session before opening up the meeting for public comments on agenda items.
Personnel matters will be discussed next, include the hiring of two substitute teachers, along with the resignations of one cafeteria worker and a sixth-grade science teacher.
Under the business section of the agenda, the board will consider claims, hear a construction update on the high school project, and review several community donations, totaling nearly three thousand dollars. The donations will support FFA programs, school safety equipment, and the Bikes for Kids initiative.
The board will then discuss insurance coverage with representatives from Astra Insurance and 1st Source Insurance.
Before the meeting is adjourned, there will be time for the public to comment on non-agenda items, and for administrators and board members to share their final thoughts and remarks.
The next school board meeting for Knox Community Schools will be Monday, November 17th at 6pm.
