According to an announcement from the City of Knox Mayor’s Office, the City of Knox Water Department crews will begin flushing fire hydrants soon.
Flushes are scheduled to begin in the evenings from 11 pm – 5 am throughout the city beginning on Monday, October 13th and continue through Friday, October 17th.
As a result of the hydrant flushing, tap water may appear brown. The water is safe to drink and can be cleared up by running cold water from a bathtub or outside faucet.
