The La Porte County Health Department is looking for feedback from moms of babies, toddlers, and young children.
The La Porte County Health Department states that prenatal care is most effective when it begins early and continues consistently throughout pregnancy. However, many barriers exist when it comes to finding prenatal care, and the health department would like to identify some of those local barriers in order to better help parents in the future.
They have shared an online survey where local parents can share the challenges they may have faced in the county while accessing prenatal care.
Difficulties pregnant people might be facing when it comes to finding care include financial challenges, transportation issues, or difficulty finding area providers.
Feedback given to the La Porte County Health Department on these challenges when it comes to accessing prenatal care in La Porte County will help medical providers and social service organizations better serve pregnant people, parents, and area children.
The survey is available online and all completed surveys will be entered to win a gift card for $50.
Questions include things like asking how many prenatal visits were attended, whether appointments were delayed or missed, and any reasons why. The survey also covers things like other siblings being allowed to appointments, trouble scheduling, long wait times, and changing providers because of issues; as well as general questions inviting more detailed feedback on challenges, experiences, and ways La Porte County can improve prenatal services to community members.
