Yesterday, WKVI reported on Michigan City rescue divers retrieving two people from Trail Creek, who were both transferred to a Chicago-area hospital for advanced care.
The Michigan City Police Department shared an update on Monday morning, stating that the adult female occupant of the vehicle succumbed to her injuries at the hospital on October 5th.
The woman has been identified as 50-year-old Sherawn Chappell, a resident of Corbin, Kentucky.
The male vehicle occupant’s identity is currently being withheld due to the ongoing investigation. He continues to receive medical treatment in Chicago.
