North Judson shares meeting minutes from September 22nd meeting

The town of North Judson recently shared the meeting minutes from their September 22nd special meeting.

Included in the minutes are notes about an interlocal agreement for the Wayne Township 2025-2026 project funding. According to the minutes, Clerk-Treasurer Rowe stated that Wayne Township Trustee and the Wayne Township Advisory Board approached the town of North Judson about funding projects and purchases for the benefit of Highland Cemetery and the North Judson Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department between now and the end of 2027.

Council was informed that $100,000 would be allocated for the Fire Department for departmental equipment and infrastructure upgrades. There will also be an additional $140,000 going towards improvements at Highland Cemetery.

Town Manager Leszek stated that the funds allocated to the Fire Department would be going towards the refurbishment of pumps, piping, and gauges on Truck 3, replacement of the firehouse floors, and significant upgrades to trucks, equipment, and facilities.

Leszek stated they have received quotes from Town & County and Reith-Reilley for paving work that needs to be done at Highland Cemetery, and from someone for engineering and survey work.

The funds are anticipated to be available in January of 2026. Town & County is lined up to complete paving work in the fall of this year, with payment to be deferred until funds are available.

Council members voted to approve both agreements.
