Pulaski County EMS participates in community events

Pulaski County EMS recently shared that they’ve been particularly active in the community recently.

On October 1st and 6th, Paramedics and EMTs met with sophomores from Winamac High School to discuss EMS career options with them. All students who attended learned hands-only CPR. There was also a demonstration on the evolution and innovation of the ambulance from 2014 to now.

On October 7th and 9th, Medic 1 with Pulaski County EMS participated in Teddy Bear Tours, which was hosted by Pulaski Memorial Hospital. Elementary school students were shown a demonstration of ambulances unloading teddy bears. The students had a discussion about appropriate reasons to call 911, and how to do so if necessary; with special reminders that 911 should be used for emergencies only.

Pulaski County EMS has noted that if there is an upcoming community event, they would like to be involved and to reach out to them for opportunities at emsdirector@pulaskicounty.in.gov.
