NORTH JUDSON – The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Saints Cyril and Methodius Conference has released their annual report and it shows a year of service to local residents in need, with the society helping more than 300 people in the North Judson–San Pierre area from October 2024 through September 2025.
During that time, the organization reports having distributed around $38,440 in assistance.
The Society provides financial help and essential household items to individuals and families facing hardship. On the last Saturday of each month, from 10am to noon, eligible households can visit the group’s storage site, located at 205 West Talmer Street in North Judson, to choose five non-food items such as shampoo, laundry detergent, toilet paper, and dish soap.
The local Society has been active since the early 2000s, and operates entirely through donations and fundraisers. Support comes from church collections, community donors, corporations, and the Starke County Community Foundation.
Every year, members of the Society serve an estimated 400-500 people; make around 60 home visits; and provide Christmas gifts to multiple local families.
Donations of nonperishable food items such as spaghetti, sauce, cereal, and canned goods are accepted year-round.
Those wishing to donate or who want more information can call 574-249-0162.
