The Starke County Council will hold a regular meeting this upcoming Monday, October 20th. The meeting will be held at 6pm Central time and will take place in the Annex #1 meeting room, located at 53 East Mound Street in Knox.
Councilors will hear from Matron April Wilhelm regarding the county’s participation in the Flock Program. Starke County Jail will discuss the need for a transport van, and EMS Director Jim Garner will address the council about cardiac monitors.
A representative from the Park Board will discuss electricity needs at the county campground with councilors. This discussion will be followed by an update on bank reconciliation from Kelly Graham. the County IT Director will request an additional appropriation, and Highway Superintendent Rachel Kinney will speak on the 2026 Community Crossings Matching Grant.
The Council will review and consider Additional Appropriation Ordinance #23, which includes allocations from CEDIT, opioid restriction, and solar funds, as well as the Transfer of Appropriations Ordinance #28. Other items on the agenda include the approval of the September 15th meeting minutes, and discussion on the upcoming Employee Appreciation Dinner.
After any other business that may come before the board, the meeting will be adjourned. The public is invited to attend this meeting.
