According to an announcement made on October 31st by the Pulaski County Emergency Management Agency, the county is still in a burn ban.
The ban was originally put in place at the beginning of October.
Citizens of Pulaski County are reminded to please refrain from any burning activities while the burn ban is in place, with burning strictly prohibited.
The announcement states that recent high winds have significantly increased fire danger, meaning any ignition could spread rapidly. Citizens are urged to remain vigilant, be considerate of your neighbors, and contact authorities immediately if you need assistance, as conditions can change quickly.
Under the burn ban, the following activities are prohibited in Pulaski County:
Open burning of any kind using conventional fuel such as wood, or other combustible material, with the exception of grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane (charcoal from permitted grills shall not be removed from the grills until the charcoal has been thoroughly extinguished):
The burning of debris, such as timber or vegetation, includes such debris that results from building construction activities:
Campfires and other recreation fires, unless enclosed:
Campfires are acceptable only in a fire ring and only if it is supervised. The fire must be extinguished if you will not be supervising the fire at any point in time.
In addition, residents are strongly encouraged to refrain from using fireworks.
