STARKE COUNTY – Multiple local agencies have been sharing their successful training endeavors recently.
Last Friday, November 21st, Starke County Emergency Management shared that they hosted a Winter Operations Training for the Starke County Highway Department. Rachel Greenwood from INDOT joined them and led an in-depth overview of INDOT’s operational protocols. She also discussed various winter weather conditions and shared essential guidance on communicating effectively with INDOT. She also covered available training resources and provided insight into their equipment and capabilities.
On Monday, the North Judson – Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department, San Pierre Volunteer Fire Department, and Starke County EMS all took part in rescue training for grain bins. Members received hands-on training using tools and equipment made specifically for grain bin rescue training, including a “Great Wall of Rescue”.
All of the posts about the training concluded with expressions of gratitude to hosts and instructors for all trainings.
