The Starke County Plan Commission has shared the agenda for their upcoming meeting on Wednesday, November 12th at 5:30pm Central Time. This meeting will take place at 53 East Mound Street in Knox.
The meeting’s agenda includes several items of discussion, beginning with the review of October permits and inspections, as well as updates on active code enforcement cases.
Commissioners will also discuss the county’s permit fee schedule, which has not been updated since September 2016.
Other business includes the review of a draft of Article 3 of the Planning Commission Ordinance, ongoing modernization and expansion efforts, and updates on the 2026 budget, which reflects a personnel change.
A significant topic on the agenda will be a moratorium on building permits and development plans for data centers. The temporary measure is intended to pause approvals until proper zoning and building ordinances can be established to regulate their sitting, design, and operation. A special meeting to discuss the moratorium has already been scheduled for December 4th, 2025.
Additionally, notice has been posted for vacant board positions, with applications available on the Starke County website.
The next regular Plan Commission meeting is set for January 14th, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Members of the Starke County Board of Zoning Appeals may also attend Wednesday’s session.
