Pulaski County Emergency Management Agency recently shared some important information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, or NHTSA.
NHTSA states that as the temperatures change, the tire pressure in your vehicle’s tires changes, as well. They share their steps to help make sure your tires are ready for the colder weather.
They recommend filling your tires to the manufacturer’s specified PSI, as well as checking each tire’s age. The tread on each tire should be at least 2 thirty-secondths of an inch or more. Drivers are encouraged to check their tire sidewalls for any problems.
If any issues are discovered while checking tires, it is recommended to take your car to a professional to get your tires serviced.
