WINAMAC – Winamac Volunteer Fire Department reports that on Tuesday, November 18th, they responded to a structure fire around 1:24am.
Upon the arrival of the Sheriff’s Department, they advised the Fire Department that the structure, which was identified as a barn, was fully engulfed in flames.
While the Fire Department was on route, the Sheriff’s Department advised that there were no occupants in the barn, but that the fire was now spreading to the bush and trees surrounding the barn.
Mutual aid was requested, with a response from Star City and tanker support from Medaryville. After the initial knockdown on the structure, all fire agencies began to work on putting out and cooling down the hotspots.
