Starke County Planning Commission breaks down Comprehensive Plan for citizens

STARKE COUNTY – Starke County Planning Commission’s Facebook page is sharing resources and information this week about Starke County’s Comprehensive Plan.

On Tuesday, December 16th, a shared post stated that the county’s Comprehensive Plan lays out how the county grows, as well as where development should go, how we protect our natural resources, and what citizens would like our community to look like.

The post states that throughout the week, Planning Commission will be breaking the county’s Comprehensive Plan down into easy pieces to help citizens better understand it.

Tuesday’s post ends with a poll, asking followers what part of the county’s future matters most.

Yesterday, December 17th, Starke County Planning Commission shared that the comprehensive plan was built through public workshops, online surveys, stakeholder meetings, steering committee input, and community-wide review sessions.

They stated that when the current Comprehensive Plan was made, more than 150 residents participated in the process, and that they identified needs such as better broadband and branding, more recreation, and stronger housing choices.
