According to a press release from the Starke County Community Foundation, they celebrated another meaningful Giving Tuesday as community members, local businesses, and long-time partners came together and donated towards funds that will help the community for years to come.

Starke County Community Foundation shared that this year’s event generated $54,584 in donations, which will grow to $108,062 when paired with the $2:$1 Lilly Endowment Inc. Community Fund matching opportunity.

In addition to Giving Tuesday gifts, another $17,625 was directed to a variety of SCCF endowment funds through local match dollars. Altogether, more than $125,700 will help support Starke County students and charitable organizations who receive grants, scholarships, and annual distributions through SCCF.

The event took place at the SCCF office in North Judson and featured a spread from several local businesses, including Darlene’s Taste of Texas, The Rabbit Coffee Roasting Co., Fingerhut Bakery, and Cookies by Arielle.

SCCF Director of Development Jacque Ryan shared her gratitude for the support shown throughout the year and on Giving Tuesday.

“What’s exciting about the gifts we receive is that they don’t just grow once on Giving Tuesday thanks to our matches. They also continue to grow as a result of being placed into SCCF endowment funds,” she said. “The dollars donated by our generous community stewards this year and in previous years will be making an impact in Starke County for generations to come.”

Starke County Community Foundaion shares that while this year’s Giving Tuesday festivities have come to a close, the Starke County Community Fund Matching Campaign continues, giving community members and local businesses the opportunity to triple their tax-deductible donations through the ongoing $2:$1 match for any new or existing community fund.
