According to Pulaski County EMS, their Medic 1, 2, and 3 recently chatted with students from Winamac and West Central High School about careers in EMS.

On December 12th, students from both schools visited with local medics; with Medic 1’s on-duty crew and Medic 3 crew members speaking to Winamac High School students early on in the day as part of their Introduction to Health Careers class.

According to Pulaski County EMS, topics discussed included careers in EMS as well as equipment used on calls. Students were also shown demonstrations of critical care equipment. They saw demonstrations of intubation, CPR device operation, and cardiac monitors.

Students were also given the opportunity to interact with ambulances, where they learned about the new innovations from the 2014 Medic 3 diesel ambulance to the 2025 Medic 1 and 2 gas ambulances.

Pulaski County EMS stated that they appreciate being invited to demonstrate career paths in EMS, and reminds the community that they are happy to provide demonstrations or presentations. Those wishing to schedule a demonstration should reach out to the Pulaski County EMS Director at emsdirector@pulaskicounty.in.gov.
