The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for both Marshall and Starke counties earlier today, and has also now issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook.
The advisory warned that lake effect snow with additional snow accumulations between 2-4 inches with locally higher amounts were possible, with the hazardous weather outlook stating the snow showers are expected to continue through Monday morning, with the heaviest snowfall rates expected late Sunday evening into early Monday.
The National Weather Service warns that snow-covered and slick roads are likely early Monday morning, with snow showers expected to taper Monday afternoon. Blowing and drifting of recent snowfall may create sudden reductions in visibility at times, and drivers are urged to slow down and travel with caution.
The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5-1-1.
