The Knox-Center Township Fire Department reports that on Friday, February 20th, its members, along with Culver Union Township Fire Department, conducted a joint dive training.

These two teams train and work together for dive rescue, an important skill set to maintain as the service is both high risk but low frequency.

The training took place at Knox High School, with personnel on hand for observation from Bass Lake Fire Department, Koontz Lake Fire Department, and La Porte City Police Department.

Starke County’s EMS Paramedic Supervisor was also on site, acting in standby while the divers operated.

The Knox-Center Township Fire Department expressed gratitude towards Knox High School for the use of the facilities, as well as to the Paramedic Supervisor on site.
