Starke County Commissioner’s Special Meeting Cancelled

According to an announcement made this afternoon by the Starke County Auditor, the County Commissioner special meeting that was originally scheduled for this Friday, February 27th has been canceled.

The announcement came one day after the meeting was originally announced. The special session was meant to be in regards to a status report on the Grovertown EMS Base.

It was reported at the February 20th County Commissioner meeting that at least 3 employees were exhibiting symptoms or under a physician’s care in relation to mold exposure at the base.

Commissioners at the special session were going to discuss the potential need for immediate remediation or relocation of staff, and vote on possible emergency action if the environmental data warrants it.

No reason or reschedule date was provided for the meeting’s cancellation.
