Wind Advisory in effect for Northern Indiana today

Those who enjoyed the sunshine we experienced this week may want to prepare for some different weather this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio that will remain in effect through 6pm Central Time today.

According to the advisory, southwest winds of 20 to 30mph are expected, with gusts up to 45mph.

The advisory states that gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects, and the National Weather Service recommends securing any outdoor objects that may otherwise blow away. Tree limbs could be blown down and could result in sporadic power outages.

Additionally, winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, so those on the road should use extra caution.

An additional Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service states that on Sunday, slick and hazardous road conditions will be possible due to snow showers.
