
An announcement from the Eastern Pulaski School Corporation made yesterday addresses and clarifies an incident that took place at the Elementary school, in order to help prevent misinformation from being spread.
The announcement states that yesterday, a student brought a knife and an electric candle lighter to the school, and that the student was calling the candle lighter a taser.
After an immediate investigation by school administration and School Resource Officers, the items were confiscated and parents were contacted.
The announcement states that at no time were any students or staff in danger.
In order to protect student privacy, additional details could not be shared.
The school system states that concerns can always be reported online anonymously through its Online Safety Reporting system, which is available 24/7 on the school’s website, epulaski.k12.in.us. Reports can also be made by calling 574-946-4010 and asking for the building principal or School Resource Officer.
